Join the Mailing List
The mailing list is where members and non-members alike discuss issues. We have many other methods of communication as well, but the mailing list is the "official" place for announcements to take place.
- the list is here: http://groups.google.com/group/cincihackerspace
- it requires a google account, so you can either:
- use your personal google account (gmail etc.)
- use your Hive13 account
- it's called the "Cincinnati Hackerspace Project" because:
- the mailing list predates the name Hive13
- discussing what to call the hackerspace was one of the first things we discussed on the mailing list
- feel free to lurk if you want
Enter the number for the Hive into your phone
The number is (513)593-9292 and rings a number of handsets in the space. If you are in the space and the phone rings, please answer it. Just say "Hive-One-Three". Other acceptable phone greetings include "Operator" and "Yes Commissioner!"
Come to the weekly meeting
The weekly business meeting:
- is every Tuesday night at 7:30 pm
- allows you to meet:
- several members
- non-members as well
- lets you
- see projects that people are working on
- demonstrate projects that you are currently working on
- talk about projects that you and others would like to work on
Take a tour of the space
The website (http://www.hive13.org) has an icon under "Space Status" that will show you when the hive is open or closed. Anyone at the weekly meeting should be able to show you around. If you can't make a Tuesday meeting, consider attending one of these events:
Chris Anderson
- organizes Cinci2600 the first Friday of every month
- hosts "One Night of Work" every Wednesday evening around 6pm
- be sure to call to make sure someone is there before you drive over.
Dave Menninger
- hosts "FabLab Night" every Monday night around 7pm
- be sure to call to make sure someone is there before you drive over.
Chris Davis
- is frequently at the hive at random times
- be sure to call to make sure someone is there before you drive over.
Craig Smith
- hosts the "Lock Forensics" group the second Thursday of every month
- be sure to call to make sure someone is there before you drive over.
