Board Meeting Notes 7/8/19
- Review Tasks
- All - compile a list of things that have been accomplished in the last year – Attached
- All - find one member who would be a good Director – Full slate is on ballot
- Open Finance Website updates – In the future Shift laser minutes channel to Meetup payments.
- Membership Status
- Pending Applications – William Mechler never came in.
- Membership Reports – Currently working – Will add change to mark members as resigned. Seems to be working as planned.
- Student Memberships – Lengthy discussion of liability – Needs further research
- Open House
- Is there bandwidth? Decided to do open house along with Made in Camp October 12th. We will advertise and add reference links to Made in Camp in our Social Media. Cleanup finish projects, do fun activities. Food? Leader?
- Annual Meeting
- Elections – Voting to take place using existing methods.
- How do we manage competing bylaw changes? Additional Vote as tie breaker. Attached.
- New Space
- Additional basement space is a strategic move. It gives Hive13 room to grow for years.
- The biggest concern is getting member pledges to provide labor for the buildout.
- Cost to Rent – Negotiate elevator cert and furnace from Garden Street

- Treasurer Task - Propose a budget Year summer to summer period for the next 12 months. Annual Year end finances. List expected Revenues, Expenses, Spending budget, Monitor. Jim to lead Dave to help.
- Intweb messages is Still a work in progress to notify members that have expired credit cards.
- Recent changes to Intweb have been made to email the member to say the subscription has failed. (credit card expired) subscription cancelled (a deliberate action)
- Jim and Greg have made big improvements in this process.
- New member orientation is working.
- Additional vote to resolve conflicting bylaw changes
- This year we have two competing bylaw change proposals. The bylaws have no way to resolve a pair of conflicting bylaw changes if both receive 2/3 of the ballots cast during the election.
- In order to resolve the conflicting bylaw changes the Hive13 board of directors and officers propose this additional dependent vote.
- DO NOTE: This vote only takes effect, If and Only If both bylaw changes regarding Voting receive 2/3 of the ballots cast during the 2019 annual election.
- Which proposed bylaw change should be selected if both receive 2/3 of the ballots cast.
