== Background ==
Charlie the Craft Oven is a standard kitchen electric oven/range that has been dedicated to non-food uses at hive13.  The oven controller has been replaced with a PID temperature controller for more accurate and stable temperature control, and it has been modified to run entirely on 240V 50A (NEMA 6-50) circuit (uses a transformer for 120v accessories instead of needing the neutral line a NEMA 14-50 receptacle offers).  The oven was donated by Todd F.  Todd F. and Kevin M. donated the parts required for the modifications and did all the work to reverse engineer the oven and wire up the modifications.

== Operation ==
=== Oven ===
The temperature controller operates in CELCIUS ONLY.  The oven door latch MUST BE CLOSED for the oven to heat, it acts as a safety switch to de-energize the heating elements when the door is open.  The oven door automatically locks at temperatures over 204C (400F), and cannot be opened till the temperature drops below that.

The temperature controller is currently set to have a maximum temperature of 260C (500F), however, this oven had a self-clean function, so it should be able to handle higher temperatures (brief internet searches indicate oven self-clean cycles can reach in excess of 900F, so the insulation should be good for that).

The top and bottom heating elements are wired in parallel, controlled by the temperature controller as a single load.  The operate at 240V, and draw 30-40A combined.

=== Stove top Burners ===
The stove top burners operate as they do for any normal kitchen range.  The four main burners run on 240v power, but the "keep warm" element is run off the transformer at 120v.
