Open Shop 101
Bring your assorted project piece parts and ideas and we'll try to help make them happen for you.
The focus is on building basic skills and learning techniques for the HIVE's growing collection of shop equipment (Table Saw, Bandsaw, drill press, Planer, assorted hand power tools, etc.) to enable turning your ideas into realities. It is all very informal and ad-hoc; meaning the interaction, service, and advice is tailored to fit the goals and needs that come in the door on any given Wednesday night from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.
Sometimes a little bit of encouragement and advice is all it takes to get past a roadblock and reach the next level (and next roadblock) on the path to project heaven and becoming a shop tool jedi.
We have a wiki page for our Woodworking Shop
A fair number of the tools in our workshop are documented on the wiki, however the following list is only a subset of the available tools:
- Atlas 3996 Lathe
- Hitachi Frame Nailer NR 90AE(S1)
