  • Paul: I kinda like the Jolly Roger w/ the Honda logo on his head more.
  • Craig: Understandable but the end goal is to put 2 logos on each side of the Jolly Roger. I'm still working out the details on the image formats right now since they are not standard (modern?)

If you're interested, there is a way to do commenting that is slightly easier / more common in other MediaWikis. DaveMenninger 19:16, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

You can reply indented by using a single colon.
And indent even more using even more colons.
And you can sign/timestamp your comment by putting for ~ characters in a row. DaveMenninger 19:17, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Great - glad to see a linux port. Maybe you should move the link to your linux port up higher on the page - since being at the bottom made it hard to find. Another question - do you know if this tool will work with the 4.92 navi discs out now? I'm not sure what changed in this version but people have been complaining that the binsys dumpnavi one doesn't work on the 4.92 discs - not sure why. (I'm really hoping that they kept all those nice debug strings in the 4.92 version as well) - Ryan --67.199.189.229 17:42, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Craig. I hope this is how I can get in contact with you. I have been actively trying to hack the Navi Screen in my Civic Si using your methods as my guide. I have a very similar version to yours, v6.62A which leads me to encounter the same Honda Emblem and Navi Title that you were encountering.

Using 8to16 that I found on Guicide (which has been the other page ive been following) I have been able to successfully change the main background screen (the world). What I have run into however, is that 8 to 16 was written in C++ to only specifically convert from 8-16bit for that ONE image. I am sure you knew this already... because you referenced using GIMP.

Main Problem -- I cant figure out how to get ANY picture editing software to recognize the original files off DVD other than using MSPaint to view or Internet Explorer.... but I cant seem to save it in the correct format without recoding 8to16... which is something my C++ skill will not allow me to do. (like reading Spanish as opposed to speaking it :) )

I have been working on this for two nights and would very much appreciate your help as it looks like you have already independantly solved the mystery.

I really appreciate any help you could loan me in what to do w/ the honda symbol and navi title as well as how to best design my own/save new backgrounds.
