General Information

This page is being populated with information about our newer 2701SG location. Historical information about our former 2929 location can be found here.

Installation and Material Standards

  • MC/BX/AC Metal Clad Cable
    • use anti-short bushings at ALL metal jacket ends
    • Push-to connect fittings to boxes where conductor size permits
  • Use only Steel 4" x 4" boxes
    • use extra-deep boxes for large devices (50 amp outlets, GFCIs, etc.)
    • use appropriate mud rings
  • Breakers are all Siemens QP style breakers

To-Do List

  • Install outlet on Kitchen overhead reel circuit
  • Install outlet on blast cabinet circuit
  • Put 2nd bathroom light on switch

Breaker Panels

2701 provided us one transformer, supplied by two legs of the 480v 3-Phase of the building's power, stepped down to the common 240v split single phase (120v/N/120v). The transformer can supply 400 amps on the low side, and feeds 4x 200 amp panels placed around hive13's space (Panels W, X, Y, and Z ). All the panels have disconnects near the transformer in the laser bay, so that they may be fully de-energized for work EXCEPT panel Y, which is mounted right by the transformer and has a disconnect breaker within the panel.

Lights

  • Almost all our lights are on pre-hive13 building circuits that we have no control over
  • The light switches are in banks by elevator #4 and #5
