Recent Improvements
- The laser has a new handle! Now it just needs some facial plastic surgery (aka relocation of googly eyes to give it backs its face)
- Schwinn's new member orientation
- Schwinn has been a beast at sharing his enthusiasm for Hive13 and signing up new members, even during COVID and has started working on a project of topics that are covered in new member orientation
- This will anyone giving tours have something to reference/give as reference as well in case they accidentally miss something / can make tours a bit more streamlined
- Also going to be creating accompanying video / slides
- Would be great to get some video of the tools that require certification for reference / material before actually doing certification
- Makes it easier for those doing the teaching, as well as the ones wanting to learn having some knowledge beforehand
- Modern phones do most of what you need, as long as the space isn't too loud.
- Schwinn has been a beast at sharing his enthusiasm for Hive13 and signing up new members, even during COVID and has started working on a project of topics that are covered in new member orientation
- Laser area spy cam is live! Thanks Drew!
- A+ location since you can see the laser, the stairway door and the elevator.
Discussion
- Tables
- The countertops we've been offered (FO FREE) easily can be converted to a table similar to what's in glass right now. Take the counter top, throw some legs. Boom
- UC Surplus often has work tables, lab benches, etc. Really good quality for like $50. Chris D knows deets if you're interested.
- Wiki Love
- We're doing so many neat things but our wiki is ancient
- Editing the wiki is fairly easy (I, Kayla Lukawiecki can do it. And my base of knowledge is editing Myspace profiles in 2008. If I can do it, you can do it.)
- Let's get it accurate. It's a group thing. We can all chomp away at it
- We're doing so many neat things but our wiki is ancient
- Baby laser
- The little laser is no joke - it just got outshone by the big laser. It can do a lot when it's functional
- Ralph taken initiative to put the thought into getting it up and going. A couple people have said they're willing to throw in some cash.
- If we can get it so that the vote is only ~$100, that would be spectacular
- Let's do this!
- Fan/Chiller conundrum can be engineered. We're smart
Hive Tech
- The wiki will experience intermittent down time this weekend as it is moved to a different server.
- Camera feed
- Drew put forth idea of slack channel called "space status" for leadership members to see a screengrab of main door to make sure it's not wide open
- Don't want that on the spy cam since we don't wanna advertise HEY OUR DOOR IS OPEN.
- Great idea. We love this
- Drew has big dreams and ideas for Azure and is v excited. I do not understand this, but he does! His enthusiasm is lovely.
