Major things:

Election nominations are closed. The official ballot should be going out July 1. Make sure your email address is updated in Intweb. Voting will be open for two weeks (July 14th at 7:30 pm).

We will have no overlap in leadership again this year

Continue wearing a mask and make sure you sign in.

Move Activities:

Garden St. has prospective tenants for the fab lab space in July. People want to move into the main space on August 15. We need to pick up and move!

All members are now able to request a storage slot at the new space. There are plenty of open slots. Will has volunteered to send another reminder.

Electrical work is the major hang up for most of the remaining move. Dave V, Todd F, John C, and Kevin M have been working during the day on this. 20% of the Y panel is pulled. Dave V will continue working on that. No ETA on Panels W and Z.

Power in the laser bay will be live with this round of work. Electronics will not be, but could be run from extensions.

The two largest tasks are the laser and CNC, but don’t diminish the tasks of moving things like the dust collector. There’s a lot of stuff to move. The hard deadline more refers to moving things to 2701 rather than hooking them up. Laser and CNC will need to be coordinated with the print shop. The laser can move out in one piece (with some modification of the fab lab door) and the CNC can move out with basic dismantling.

If you have a holiday off from work on Friday, be on the lookout for a call to action for moving tasks that day. We will also be working this weekend, if your form of patriotism is moving the Hive.

We need moving boxes! The stuff you get from the liquor store is great as are medium moving boxes from Home Depot.

Electronics and fab lab (minus the laser) can probably be moved in half a day. That goal may be near the top of the list. Having a spot to land in at 2701 is important. Dave S and Scott S will assemble more wooden shelves in the big space at the front.

Other Stuff:

Made in Camp is tentatively happening again this year in October. The impact of the pandemic remains to be seen. Keep on the lookout for more info. Leadership will discuss whether we want to be involved.
