Meetings
Previous Meeting: February 28, 2017 Meeting Procedure Next Meeting: March 14, 2017

Coordinates

Time: 7:30 PM

Space: Anchor Building, 2929 Spring Grove Ave.

Agenda

Housekeeping

  • Noise Curfew - Quiet hours are 10:30pm to 7am until further notice.
  • Liability waivers must be legible

Old Business

  • Space next door:
    • Progress update on RFID locks
    • Leak status:
      • We knew about the leak, we should ask them to fix it, it might not get fixed 100% by then. A few of the other leaks over the years might have been fixed successfully by our members with little effort or money. Garden St. has failed to fix the annoying leak next to the workbench.
    • Schedule a day to have a moving party to get some stuff in the space and get things started setting up as soon as the locks are installed!
  • Voting system needs upgrading - Ian is working on it
    • Progress
  • New computers coming to the hive
    • PC for Lounge - Update from Will B?
  • Server Rack Overhaul
    • Hard Drive Purchase - Update
  • Getting an early start on ideas for Maker Faire. Will B going to take the lead on this conversation.
  • Vote tonight
  • Crypto party - Monday, March 6th - 7pm ish
    • How did it go?

New Business

  • Upcoming events:
    • Dustin teaching a laser class
      • Saturday 3/11, 12pm and 4pm
  • Help us with a general budget for the rest of our fiscal year (until July)
    • With the open finance website, it's easer to track our expenses now
    • Each year, active members sometimes informally come up with some "big ticket" items from the wishlist, and make a "budget" for the coming year for larger purchases (like the lathe, or the big laser, etc.)
      • This budget is used to keep an idea of the possible goals for purchased items for the year
    • What would we like to get this year? What items would expand or improve our areas? Which items are we "ready for" that would be most utilized in the near future? (There are things on the wish list that really are far future "wishes", and not practical now.).
    • Some items are on the table for discussion right now (welder, vacuum former, etc.). These might fit into this.
  • Gather and sift through some old "important procedural votes" and make a page on the wiki to collect them.
    • Most of these things do NOT belong in the bylaws, but it would be a great idea to collect them somewhere in a consolidated form.
    • Elly volunteers to help with this.

Votes

  • Vacuum former, Tuesday March 14th. See below and mailing list for details:
    • Vote 1 is for $2500
    • Vote 2 is for $2000
    • Vote 3 is for $1000
  • Vote tonight: Oscilloscope and electronic's accessories
    • Was proposed initially for $1000, details changed, but amount stayed the same. I (Elly) consider this a valid vote, since it was originally posted in time for tonight's meeting, however if anyone has a problem with it going to a vote tonight since the details changed 3 days ago, we can easily wait to next week.
    • A Rigol DS1054Z for $399
    • A Saleae logic 8 analyzer for $220
    • A function generator for $50-$300
    • 8 remote yes votes as of 5:50pm
