    • Accomplished the goal with very little help from the community; let's do better next time on October 6th. Potential new members from the public will here; let's make the place look like intelligent humans inhabit the space.

New Business

  • Social Media
    • Join the group on Meetup. That is where we will post classes and events.
    • If you see a Facebook post from or related to the Hive, like it or post it to the page.
    • We want to work on growing the community and focus on the community itself.
    • If you know a place that could use a sign for the open house, let us know or grab it from the Wiki and print it out and take it there.
  • We have a slack channel setup, if you have a hive13.org email address you can join on your own. If you don't have a hive email address let one of the officers know and we can help you get into the slack channel.
    • Will B will be doing a brief presentation on how/what/why to Slack next week for those that don't already know.

  • Warden Hours
    • Upcoming Woodworking Warden hours canceled for this week. Possibly getting rescheduled, we will announce on FB/Slack/Calendar.
    • Electronics hours tonight after the meeting.
  • Leather Mask-making Class Saturday September 29th 12-4 Sign up on Meetup.
  • Hive Cleanup October 6th
  • Board Meeting Oct. 8th
  • Open House
    • October 13th during Made in Camp - great time to come in and work on projects, play host, and check out other organizations in the area.
    • October 20th - 2pm till 9pm - Public Party with demos for the public. This is more about hanging out, playing with toys, eating, drinking, and showing off why we are The Hive and not the Manufactory.

      • Turnout was a little low, but the goal of clearing the main area was accomplished.
      • We have another clean-up coming up 2018-10-06
    • Nail guns have arrived.
      • Brad has posted a vote for nails.
      • This is for small scale use. If you have a large project, be courteous to Hive13 and purchase your own nails.

    • Nancy G - Went camping this week, and made a bottle carrier. Someone donated a spiralizer to the kitchen.
    • Kerensa - Working on portfolio. Continuing to examine all the things with the scanning electron microscope.
    • Chris - Visiting. Considering taking the 2x4 challenge. Used to design wheelchair accessible water fountains.
    • Tim - Working on the 2x4 challenge.
    • Dorothy - Visitng from Maryland. Director for community engagement for a public library. Received a grant to transform a 14K sq. foot space into an "exploration commons." Dorothy is in town checking out the local makerspaces.
    • Jeremy - Still working on a disk lock. Will be out on vacation for a couple weeks, so Cincy Locksport will be delayed.
    • Chris - Cleaned out his fridge due to the failed breaker mentioned last week.
    • WillB - Got an iPhone working with an old version of OS X.
    • John - Starting on a bathroom remodel.
    • Vicente? - Visiting for the first time. Guest of Chris. Electrical engineer and product designer.
    • Brad - Discovered MicroPython. Took some sunset shots with his drone.
    • Dave L - Working on a table for his desktop mill. Started cutting a piece of the rail-road rail.
    • Greg A - Saturday clean-up. Got the HDMI input running. Verified Trent. Christmas lights.
    • Ryan - Further adventures in Linux desktoping. Worked on the can crusher. Saturday clean-up.
    • Mark - Visiting again. took a milling class here about a year ago. considering returning.
