This is the wiki page for a project DaveB is thinking about.
Overview
Most hive members have smartphones. In addition to the stereoscopic microscopes that are often around the hive, it would be nice to build a smartphone magnifier for doing inspection of SMT soldering work and getting a close up view of stuff in general.
Current Status
This project is currently in the early planning stage.

Next step
Cannibalize something and come up with a lens. Probably use laser and make most pieces from acrylic or laser cut wood. Any/all feedback about lens selection welcome. Trial and error will probably provide best answers.
