Pink Panther
D. Gottlieb & Company, 1981
This is the first machine that I owned. I bought it in 1999 in non-working condition. There was a bad pair of transistors on the driver board. When you powered it up it would energize a solenoid coil and the fuse would pop. Fairly simple fix. (I don't remember which transistors it was.)
The other issue with this machine is the condition of the backglass. When I bought the machine, the backglass was in really bad condition with the paint flaking off. And I have to admit that I have been a poor custodian as it has been in a non-environmentally controlled self-storage garage for the past 10 years. I figured it was already trashed.
Even though it is my first machine, I don't really love it. I plan to clean it up real good and see what I can sell it for. It may be worth more to a collector because it is a rare machine in the US so finding a pinball collector (or a Pink Panther collector) might increase the value.
